Here's how we like to spread hope during Autism Awareness Month.

Did you know that April is Autism Awareness Month? We couldn’t pass up this opportunity to give two of our non-profit partners a huge shout-out for all their hard work in the autism space. And, we want to provide you with a few easy ways to learn more about autism and share an available resource we have for families with someone on the autism spectrum.

Let’s take a couple moments to review what autism is. According to the Autism Society, “Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate, and interact with others.” In fact, in 2016 the CDC issued a report stating the prevalence of autism has risen to 1 in 16 births in the United States. You might not have someone in your family with autism, but the chances are that you know someone in your community with autism (

What organizations are out there?

There are a handful of incredible organizations working to support people with autism. We have the privilege of partnering with Generation Rescue and the Autism Hope Alliance. For the past few years, we’ve had the opportunity of attending the Autism Education Summit (packed with sessions featuring the latest research and treatment solutions) in Dallas, Texas with Generation Rescue. We’ve met healthcare professionals, rock star parents, fabulous kids with autism and non-profit advocates who all share one mission of supporting people with autism. You’ve got to check out their hashtag #morethanautism.

Check out this photo from a party we threw for the parents of children with autism last year in Dallas. It was a fantastic night filled with laughter, dancing and parents taking a night for themselves. Plus, we all dressed up and that was a hit!

We’re huge fans of the work of the Autism Hope Alliance. Every day they actively choose hope for their kids on the spectrum as well as the countless families they support with education, financial support and product donations. Mark your calendars for their upcoming online Autism Summit. It starts on May 14th, 2018.

Why did we get involved?

Great question. We’ve been partnering with these organizations for many years and it all started with fish oil. It was a natural fit that combined our commitment to making the best products we can to support the health of our customers with AHA and GR’s mission to help families get access to high quality supplements. Last year, we realized the financial strain that autism can put on families and decided to start the Autism Hope Program to give families a big discount (40% off) on our products. It’s super easy to sign up and there are no strings attached—no minimum orders, commitments—you can order whatever you want when you need it.
