Our Story

In 1989, Bruce Barlean and his father Dave created a new way of pressing fresh flaxseed. Their innovative technique produced the highest quality, best tasting organic flax oil on the market, and Barlean’s was born.

Today, Barlean’s makes over a hundred different functional foods and natural supplements from fish and flax oils to powdered greens and seed blends.

What started as a tiny company is now about 125 people strong - but the same commitment to quality and innovation lives on.
