Whenever we feel a yearning for a fresh island taste, we know it’s time to fire up the blender. With a fridge stocked with fruit, veggies, and Barlean’s products, tropical food has never been such a topical mood. To start the day off right, we like to add as much nutritional value to the drink as possible. Composed of all natural products, this smoothie is low in fat, high in protein and packed with vitamin C. The end result is delicious, but lacking a certain pizzazz that separates the good smoothies from the great.
The best part of this smoothie is the ensuing finishing touch. We added the new Barlean’s Energy Blend, a delicious combination of flaxseed, coconut flakes and chia seeds with panax ginseng root powder. The Energy Blend provides you with omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants and dietary fiber. This is the first Barlean’s product to utilize ginseng, which works wonderfully in tandem with chia to create an excellent source of lasting natural energy. We recommended adding it in the smoothie and then for a little something extra you can sprinkle it on top before drinking.
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 cups fresh spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 tablespoon Barlean's Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon Barlean’s Energy Blend
Put all ingredients in the blender and mix it up! We sprinkled our Energy Seed Blend on top.
You can expect to find these in stores and online for purchase by the end of October.
