Before we get to the recipes, let’s take a moment to let you in on our little secret. We love coconut oil because it is “guilt free”! The medium chain triglycerides that make up most of the fat in coconut oil is never stored as fat on your body like animal fat from butter is—and coconut oil has just ONE ingredient! Not a dozen, like those tubes of unhealthy margarines or vegetable oil spreads do! One simple, clean ingredient from nature that tastes absolutely delicious AND is healthy! Now for the grilling tips:
- COCONUT OIL BBQ SAUCE:
We think we can all agree that nothing quite hits the spot like grilled chicken with some mouth-watering BBQ sauce after a long day at the beach. We’ve got a recipe for BBQ sauce made with our coconut oil and it's super delicious! Brought to you by, Tara Goodyear, Barlean's Customer Service Specialist and blogger at www.taragoodyear.com. You can find the recipe at the end of this blog post.
- GRILLED CHICKEN COCONUT OIL GLAZE:
We enjoy scouring the health-focused foodie bloggers to find great recipes. While out surfing the net, we stumbled upon this super awesome grilled chicken recipe. This recipe creates a coconut oil based glaze that, in our opinion, will make you drool. Check out this recipe: http://realfoodrn.com/chicken-glaze-recipe/
- SHARE THE COCONUT LOVE WITH THE VEGGIES:
Last, but not least, grilled veggies! We absolutely love using our organic coconut oil as a substitute to butter and other oils. It's simple and easy, place your veggies in the grilling tray or use aluminum foil, then pour enough coconut oil over the veggies to give them a nice base. Then have some fun with spices and toss them on the grill! We really like sprinkling some cracked pepper, sea salt, and crushed red pepper flakes over the veggies. Ditch the butter, grab some coconut oil and try it on your corn on the cob. You won’t even miss the butter.
And, just like that you made the summer grilling a little bit more healthy! Let us know in the comments how you like to #grillclean this summer.
